DARCY HENRY
“Hi! I’m Darcy. I truly love life and yoga. It has been my desire, since I started practicing in 2010, to share this tradition with anyone and everyone. At first, yoga was a supplemental practice to running and cycling, but after a half marathon and a few MS150’s, yoga became my main focus. So, I became a teacher in 2016. I believe in yoga for wellness. I believe yoga is for every body. The beautiful and unique thing about asana is that it touches every part of the human anatomy. As Bryan Kest says “…yoga takes care of you”. Looking good is different than FEELING good. There is no proof that pretty people feel better than anyone else. Don’t we all just want to feel good? In my classes we challenge ourselves, we push our boundaries and connect our practice on the mat to our lives that leave the yoga studio.
I was born in Southern California. I love the sun and the ocean and the moon. I’ve lived in texas since I was 21 years old and now consider myself a Cali-Texan. My students are my greatest teachers and I will never stop learning. Houston has SO many inspiring yogis! It’s an honor to be a part of the Houston Yoga Community. Being united makes us strong and connected. Together we can do so much!”
MELODY BUTLER
“Hello! I’m Melody!
I have been practicing yoga on and off (mostly on now) for about 18 years. I am a 500hrERYT, YCAP, and RCYT through Yoga Alliance.
I graduated with my 200hr RYT certification in 2015 from Boulevard Yoga in Kansas City MO and my 300hr RYT in 2020 through MY Vinyasa Practice in Austin TX. As an avid and passionate learner, I’ve also spent the last few years completing my Barre Above Certification in 2017, Children’s Yoga Certification through Yogees Yoga 4 Kids in Dallas TX in 2019, my 300hr RYT through My Vinyasa Practice in Austin TX in 2020, and my Yoga Sculpt Certification through The Studio BE in Houston TX in 2021.
I recently moved to Ocean Springs MS with my husband, toddler, and cat and I am currently a Barre, Yoga, and Kid’s teacher at The YMCA and DownTown Yoga Ocean Springs. I also work remotely as the Assistant Manager/ Business Development Manager/ Event Coordinator for The Studio BE .
The past couple of years have brought so many big changes and so much growth in my MBYoga offerings.
I’ve now offered 3 online and in person yoga challenges; 30 to 30 , Yoga is for Lovers , and MamaFlow2020
I spent 2 years teaching at the ELYSIA Yoga Convention in Amorgos, Greece at the beautiful Aegialis Hotel and Spa and at the the Heartland Yoga Festival in Kansas City MO. I’ve created and produced 2 Deepen The Heart Texas Based Women’s Wellness Retreats in 2018 & 2019 and lead my first international retreat, Beachside Bliss in Chacala Mexico in 2021. Then spent 2023 guiding retreats in Costa Rica and again in Mexico with the MidSummer Magic yogis!
On top of all that, I am the founder and guide for the A Well Read Yogi Virtual Book Club.
This Book Club brings our practice from the mat to the page and back again where we create connection and community through the lens of self study. And where we transcend time and space using ancient techniques (like mediation) and modern technology (like zoom).
In my classes, I offer a mindful Vinyasa and Hatha practices that focus on meditation and movement. I love being able to use yoga to create community and connection wherever I am.
I honestly love everything about my work and hope I get to see you in one or (or all) of my classes soon!
